A question put directly to states.
The programme opened around a deliberately direct question: Geneva AI Summit 2027: What Risks and Opportunities for States? It sets the tone for the series of events leading to the 2027 global AI Summit.
The format was the one the foundation favours: a room small enough for everyone to speak, diverse enough for disagreements to surface. Permanent missions, international organisations, academia and civil society sat around the same table.
Discussion turned to what a state can actually do when technical capacity, standards and markets are decided elsewhere, and to what Geneva can bring to that conversation. These contributions feed the foundation’s work.
